You know how I decided at the last minute (or so) to request a backup of my Miiverse posts before Miiverse shut down? The backup arrived on December 4, and shortly after that I decided I might as well actually DO something with my Miiverse posts: archive them on LiiveJournal and DriimWidth! yeah okay that was too much of a stretch for even Wii Fit Trainer to handle

But I didn't get around to doing so until now when I had the idea of archiving just a few posts at a time.

I can't guarantee I'll stick to an update schedule, but my plan is that every week, on Tuesday or Wednesday (for two reasons: I thought of this plan on a Tuesday, and Miiverse was shut down at a time that for me was midnight between a Tuesday and a Wednesday), I'll post an entry with a few of my Miiverse posts in it, starting from my first posts ever and going in chronological order.

(Currently I'm planning on it being five posts at a time except whenever posting four or six instead better separates my archive into easy-to-describe time periods like "12/25/2012" or "July 2014". Though I might group all Miiverse posts from the same day together even if there's a lot of them, as opposed to "all Miiverse posts from MM/DD/201Y before HH:00" or something one week and "...MM/DD/201Y after HH:00" the next week. I dunno yet.)

Good game so far! Though am I the only one who didn't figure out how to use Miiverse until after W2?

Yoshis can eat Baby Yoshis? That's... a bit disturbing...

(This, my third Miiverse post ever out of 256, and the first one with a drawing in it, somehow had more Yeahs and more comments than any of my other posts. I think. I don't remember any of the others having 57+ Yeahs or 18+ comments, anyway.)

(I hadn't figured out how to post from in-game yet, but if I had, it would say that the level was Spinning-Star Sky. Not sure what level inspired me to post the one with the vine though.)

As someone who archives all kinds of weird shit, I approve of this Miiverse idea. :D

:D

I thought of the idea of archiving my Miiverse posts on LJ long before Nintendo announced that Miiverse would be discontinued, in fact! I decided that when I archive/remake PrtSc Land (if I ever get around to that...), I might also include, as bonus features, other stuff I've done in the same style as PSL - which could've included my Miiverse posts since the fact that Miiverse had even fewer drawing tools than MS Paint means that my Miiverse drawings (especially before the introduction of stamps) look similar to the first version of PrtSc Land (PSL being in color notwithstanding). It would've been interesting to compare the two. :)

Hey, at least you thought of it before a site was discontinued! :)

That's probably a good idea! MORE PROJECTS! :D

:)

I'm actually really lucky I decided at the last minute to get a backup of my Miiverse posts!

As much as I still like my Miiverse posts (and many of the other posts that showed up in games I like), in 2014 or so I thought Miiverse in general had gone so downhill that I stopped checking it very often; it had started out as a really positive community, but parts of it didn't stay that way for long.

When I heard that it was going to be shut down in a few months, I thought I'd have to save each of my posts one by one if I wanted a backup of it and decided that I wouldn't bother logging in to do so, but then the day before it was shut down, I was looking up information about the discontinuation and found out that requesting a backup was apparently as easy as logging into Miiverse, pressing a button, and waiting a few weeks. So I decided to do that at the last minute. :D

Eh, that's the way of the Internet, sad to say!

Thank goodness getting a backup was that easy! :D

Blurb

If I had to pick six words to describe myself, I would panic and ask someone for help because I am so downright random and weird that there is no possible way to describe myself or my journal in only six words.

So here's a list of things you'll probably see in this journal, in no particular order:
- Posts about my life
- Posts about my worrying about being disliked for any number of reasons
- Posts about the fact that I'm trying to fix all the things that are messed up in my LJ and DW and catch up on lots of websites that I'm behind on reading
- Backups of my posts on Miiverse now that Miiverse is discontinued... so if you want to know what some random guy was saying about New Super Mario Bros. U or Nintendo Land five years ago, this is the journal for you :P
- Quizzes and surveys and such
- References to random things I'm obsessed with
- Whatever else I feel like posting

Some of the random things I'm obsessed with are:
- LiveJournal (obviously)
- Looking back at things that were made years ago... old posts on LJ, etc.
- Math
- Weird dreams
- Video games (mostly Mario, Super Smash Bros., Kid Icarus, and Chip's Challenge)
- Video game music
- Homestar Runner
- Enya, my favorite singer and biggest celebrity crush
- Too many comics/webcomics to name... Garfield, mezzacotta, Terror Island, and Circle Versus Square might be the ones I'm the MOST obsessed with though. Oh, and Super Mario Maker Crash Course - that counts as a comic, right? It certainly counts as something I'm obsessed with :P
- Speaking of Super Mario Maker Crash Course, my biggest *fictional* crush is Mary O. Yes, I have a crush on the guide to a video game MANUAL. I'm so weird...

For a (hopefully) complete list of interests and Q&A about me, visit my profile. :) (Which is still in need of an update...)

This journal is semi-friends-only, but there's not much rhyme or reason to which entries are public and which ones aren't...
