Quest for the Lost Images

So, in the aftermath of a lot of my ScrapBook images mysteriously going missing (and the images I had hosted on Google Sites also going missing nearly two years ago*, though I have since restored the ones used before August 2009 and am in the process of restoring the rest), I have an idea:

I suggest that everyone reading this (especially those of you who are new or relatively new to my friends list) please do the following a few times:

- Pick a random year between 2007 and the present (except 2008; I only had one post that year and it has no images, broken or not), a random month, and a random day of that month
- Go to http://matt1993.livejournal.com/yyyy/mm/dd/, replacing the yyyy/mm/dd with the date you picked
- If I posted that day, read those entries to find out a) a glimpse of what I was doing in that era and b) whether or not there are any broken images in those entries. And then if there are, let me know in the comments on this one.

If at least some of you do this a few times, you'll get to learn a little more about me and I'll have a slightly easier time pinpointing just how many images in my journal are broken! (And I'll also get a better idea of how many of my entries make sense to people who haven't been here since 2009 or so!) :)

*Wait, that was nearly two years ago?!?

EDIT: Hey, LiveJournal's staff fixed it - the images show up in my ScrapBook now! I still have yet to make sure they show up in my actual entries, though. Note to self: if I come across an image that doesn't show up, press Ctrl+F5 before assuming that it's still missing.

To all of you who looked through random entries to see if there were any broken images: Thank you for the help! :)

Could you be more specific? What about this entry do you find interesting? :)

There weren't any posts for the day I picked. It might be easier to look at your calendar of entries.

Maybe try a few more.

I know I can look at my calendar of entries (and I have been) but I thought it'd be a tiny bit faster if my LJ friends helped a little. :)

I'll keep trying. I tried a few more but didn't find any entries.

You don't have to if you don't want to. It was just a suggestion.

And I've already made sure that all the images that were still in my ScrapBook, plus all of my userpics, are also saved to my computer in case they disappear too - that was probably the main thing. :)

Oh, and the images that were missing are back now anyway. YAY!!!! :D

I don't mind, I just haven't had any luck yet.

I tried for 12/29/15 (12/29 is my birthday) and there wasn't any entry. Aw! XD

Happy early birthday! :)

I did post an entry on your birthday in 2013 (though apparently not any other year, at least not in my own journal).

Unfortunately, it's one of those entries that, for parts of it to make sense, you kind of have to know that:

- In November 2011 some drama that I call "the Forbidden Comment Threads", or the FCT for short, happened in a certain LJ community I was in.

- To make a long story short (but probably still kind of long because I'm not good at writing concisely :P ), the FCT made me end up really worrying for a long time that I might at some point say something that gets misunderstood, or have already said something that could get misunderstood. I finally overcame the worst of this depression about four years later. From time to time I still needlessly worry about being misunderstood, but now I only worry about as often as I did before the FCT.

*is resisting the urge to explain in even greater detail, even though I feel like I probably should*

Very interesting entry. I should write an a year in review like that. Haha.

10th Apr 2011 - Your favourite food is man n cheese. No photos in that entry.

18th Oct 2013 - Post-hiatus post. No photos there.

29th Jul 2015 (my birthday) - another hiatus related post. Again, no photos to speak of.

I tried :)

If I had to pick six words to describe myself, I would panic and ask someone for help because I am so downright random and weird that there is no possible way to describe myself or my journal in only six words.

So here's a list of things you'll probably see in this journal, in no particular order:
- Posts about my life
- Posts about my worrying about being disliked for any number of reasons
- Posts about the fact that I'm trying to fix all the things that are messed up in my LJ and DW and catch up on lots of websites that I'm behind on reading
- Backups of my posts on Miiverse now that Miiverse is discontinued... so if you want to know what some random guy was saying about New Super Mario Bros. U or Nintendo Land five years ago, this is the journal for you :P
- Quizzes and surveys and such
- References to random things I'm obsessed with
- Whatever else I feel like posting

Some of the random things I'm obsessed with are:
- LiveJournal (obviously)
- Looking back at things that were made years ago... old posts on LJ, etc.
- Math
- Weird dreams
- Video games (mostly Mario, Super Smash Bros., Kid Icarus, and Chip's Challenge)
- Video game music
- Homestar Runner
- Enya, my favorite singer and biggest celebrity crush
- Too many comics/webcomics to name... Garfield, mezzacotta, Terror Island, and Circle Versus Square might be the ones I'm the MOST obsessed with though. Oh, and Super Mario Maker Crash Course - that counts as a comic, right? It certainly counts as something I'm obsessed with :P
- Speaking of Super Mario Maker Crash Course, my biggest *fictional* crush is Mary O. Yes, I have a crush on the guide to a video game MANUAL. I'm so weird...

For a (hopefully) complete list of interests and Q&A about me, visit my profile. :) (Which is still in need of an update...)

This journal is semi-friends-only, but there's not much rhyme or reason to which entries are public and which ones aren't...
