Writer's Block: 9/11

Where were you?
Well, when it actually happened, asleep at home in Texas like I always was at 5:52 AM Central in 3rd grade (and, for that matter, almost always was in any grade from elementary to high school). I first found out about it on the news that morning about 3 hours later.

Not terribly interesting compared to the experiences of people who were actually in New York at the time, but at least the idiotic political opinion I came up with soon afterwards is made fun of by this userpic.

You know, wanting to make a Starman T-shirt that actually functioned like a Starman and could be used to kill the terrorists with. Remember, even though I never actually said anything about it back when I thought it made sense, I did mention it in an earlier Writer's Block answer (but, in order to sound like I made slightly more sense, said I wanted to find an actual Starman instead) and made this userpic parodying it.

I even described this userpic to you while I was making it. I even remember you saying you understood my explanation of it, because I had thought I wasn't being clear enough and asked if you understood it.

EDIT: And, maybe to clarify: "Starman" is the official name of the stars in Mario games that make you invincible, thus distinguishing between them and Power Stars (the ones you collect at the end of levels in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2).

I'm depressed. Because the world is ending and there has not been ANY proof that things will ever get better. I'm unable to think about anything except the fact that the world is ending, no matter how hard I try

I hate, hate, hate, HATE the term "social distancing". And being reminded of the coronavirus in any other way.

That's my entire personality now. And it will be until our world is back to normal.

Please read this entry before you comment on ANY entry in my journal about the coronavirus: https://matt1993.livejournal.com/373852.html

They probably won't be mandatory forever, but you still have to wear them.

I thought I told you that I DO wear a mask whenever I am required to or am told to. Why are you acting like I don't?…

Looking back at the Spanish Flu pandemic, it obviously wasn't like that forever. I don't know if people had problems with being able to adjust.

well before the pandemic, youre supposed to wash your hands before you eat, and after youve been to the toilet. Or if youve got something on your hands. Thats all.

With the pandemic, its an add on…

Even before this pandemic I've tried to wash my hands whenever I needed to - but I've never been sure if I'm doing so well enough or often enough. :(

but this is now our new normal.

As I said to arcadia30 above, I'm tired of hearing "new normal" because it implies that it will be like this forever and/or that I'm a bad person for being unable to…
