Writer's Block: Welcome to the mobile decade @ 09:26 pm

Right now I am annoyingly: happier

The eighties were known as the Me decade. The nineties have been called the Electronic age. So far, what would you label this decade?
The VERY Electronic Age.

Yeah, when I saw that question, at first I thought that since new milleniums technically begin on years that end in 001 and not 000, and new centuries begin on years that end in 01 and not 00, then new decades must begin on years that end in 1 and not 0, but http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000s_(decade) says otherwise.

But the VERY Electronic Age would be a fitting name for either the 2000s or the 2010s.

Wait, actually, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decade, "this decade" could mean either 2000-2009 or 2001-2010. Or even 2005-2014 (stupid typos), for that matter.

Yeah there was a big debate here about whether the start of 2000 or 2001 was the new millenium and is the beginning of 2010 a new decade or do we wait till the end of 2010? Personally I see this year as the beginning of a new decade.

The very electronic age is a good name. All we seem to do lately is make our mobile phones or computers smaller and smaller.

According to those articles, "2000s" means 2000-2009 while "the 201st decade" means 2001-2010.

All we seem to do lately is make our mobile phones or computers smaller and smaller.

Introducing Windows .000000001 - the first computer for paramecia! :P
